In the freshness of spring
Under nerve endings
With heightened awareness
Making the heart quicken its pace.
Difference perceptible
Between harsh grass
Sharp thorn
And the softest of leaves
With sensation well connected.
Tears well up
Watering a garden
Ignored, overlooked
In the fading light
Of a comprehending mind.
