Celebrating Vatican ll

Liberated from the dogma of infallibility
With one priestly mind dictating to another
When Dignitas Humanae delivers freedom,
Self-evident and enshrined in our humanity
Yet wandering alone, beset by grief and fears
Until Gaudium et Spes comes on the scene
Sharing concerns and views with a soul-mate.

In a congregation of gathered momentum
Christus Dominus and Apostolicam Actuositatem
Rejoice in new-found respect and warm regard,
And the daughters of Mary meet the sons of Luther
In the friendship of Unitatis redintegratio
And we gather in worship to receive the Dei Verbum
Calling us together in the simplest of language.
