London_Underground_Escalator_1_.jpg

Liberated by the escalator
One step at a time
Away from corridors
Draughted by departing trains
Where they didn’t mind the gap
Between east and west
Blasting their way past buskers
On a mayoral dome
But left me to escape the inferno
For a peep into the world above
Cameos of what’s to come
As Transport for London advertises
The better life with Mama Mia
And me
Saying Abba Father
Deliver us from evil.
