Match-Making

The jigsaw puzzle prods the wakened mind

Excited as the artist recreates

The picture built from groups that she collates

With every linked-up partner she can find

To piece together those of matching kind

In shades and shapes that blend as rule dictates

Consenting in the holiest of estates,

One with the other as their vows defined.

The tantalising game of find and place

Absorbs imagination's silent way

To build the picture she still wants to know

As she herself evolves in growing grace

With those enlivening thoughts of yesterday,

Sharing with me her life's coherent glow.
