To an Unknown Child

  • Print

Mourned by a family who did not know you

Loved because they love those whose love made you

Your being was real  in their hopes and happiness.

Others like you are discarded in destruction

Their tiny limbs contorted in the agony of deliberate death

Yet your quiet demise a month ago went unnoticed.

You live in an eternity of hope

Your existence bathed in the tears of love

And the rhythm of continuing life.

Tomorrow comes as yesterday

But sadness turns to joy

As the sun rises on the future.
