Death of the Living Dead

  • Print

Shadreck rests in deep clay

Wrapped in the newest sheet,

But cold with a winter's death

Preserving the flesh

From post-mortem decay,

Which raged through a lonely decade

To mar this creature's form.

The loneliness is silent -

Silent with the hush of death -

A death conceived in life -

The life which they say is death

Now this once vibrant flesh

Which God had made

And we have struggled to preserve

From leprous rot is really dead,

But Shadreck too will rise again

Transformed to glorify the Maker

With his resurrection praise.
