On Becoming Human

Is this the lord that the day has made?
Skinned and boneless,
With knowledge flowing along pathways
Created by programmers,
Intelligence sacrificed
At the crossroads of humanity,
With answers to complexity
Arriving at break-neck speed,
Becoming a friend to many,
Though others shed tears
Mourning what once was,
While we look at the child in a manger,
Who also surprised the world
With a better way to live.

'And unto you is born ..., a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord.' (Luke 2:18)
