Linking good with evil
East with west
Right with wrong
Black with white
As the unpredicted emerges.
Crossing a Red Sea
And a bloody Jordan
On dry land;
Divinely sanctioned conquest
Of a promised land
Viciously.
The bridge of the past
Carried generations
Onto the other bank
Which looked attractive;
Green pastures somewhere
Other than here.
A Rubicon crossing
Is shrouded with doubts,
But commitment banishes
Any thought of defeat
As they press forward
Peacefully.
