Gathering in the square that's not a square,
Neither triangle nor quadrangle,
But somehow centre-point of a city
Built over lines and spaces into one long line -
A subterranean mishmash of power,
Where steam competes with travellers
Going this way and that in search of excitement
And adventure into the imagination of another
Who creates more space for emptiness
That is not fully satisfied by stage or screen.
But an evening of laughter certainly helps
Those of us queuing in this straight line square
Adding fun and joy to the life of a skyscraper city.
