To an Annual Sonnet Writer
- Details
- Written November 1986
Just fourteen lines of rhythm and sonnet rhyme
Describe each passing year's unfolding tale
Of PMC [1] - the Army's laureate sublime
Whose story meets our own on Norwood's trails,
Where music blends with voice in lovelier song
And friends hold fellowship in sacred trust
As corporate voice unites the gathered throng
In prayerful words of elevating thrust.
This congregation gathered from its years'
Unique experience with the God we praise,
Reflecting on its own distinctive fears
Transformed to hopes by Peter's gracious phrase.
Keep up your search for finer words than mine
Translating thoughts to verse the years refine
November 1986
